Dolly Parton, in full glam, puts rumors about her health to rest: ‘Do I look sick to you?’

Dolly Parton wants everyone to know she’s doing just fine — and very much alive.

In a video shared on social media Wednesday, the legendary country singer, actress, and philanthropist addressed rumors about her health, assuring fans that there’s no need for concern.

“I know lately everybody thinks that I’m sicker than I am,” said the 79-year-old icon, speaking from the set of a Grand Ole Opry commercial. “Do I look sick to you? I’m workin’ hard here.”

Wearing a red and black fringe outfit, Parton said she simply wanted to “put everybody’s mind at ease” after fans expressed worry over her well-being. “I appreciate your prayers because I’m a person of faith,” she said with a smile. “But I want you to know that I’m ok.” Her post was playfully captioned, “I ain’t dead yet!”

Parton acknowledged that she’s been facing some health challenges, which led her to cancel a string of Las Vegas concerts scheduled for December. She explained that she had neglected her own health while caring for her late husband, Carl Dean, who passed away in March after a long illness.

“Back when my husband Carl was very sick, I didn’t take care of myself,” she shared. “So I let some things go that I should’ve been tending to. The doctors told me we needed to handle a few things — nothing major — but I wanted to stay close to home.”

Concern over Parton’s health spiked earlier in the week when her sister Freida posted on Facebook, asking fans to pray for the “Jolene” singer. After her post caused widespread alarm, Freida clarified that she didn’t mean to make the situation sound dire, saying it was “just a little sister asking for prayers.” Another sister, Stella, later confirmed that while Dolly wasn’t feeling her best, the situation wasn’t serious.

Parton, whose postponed Las Vegas shows have been rescheduled for September 2026, reassured her followers that she’s far from finished.

“I’m not ready to die yet,” she said. “I don’t think God’s through with me — and I ain’t done workin’. I love you all for caring, and keep those prayers coming.”
