Police appeal after man charged with murdering two women and raping third

Man Charged With Murder of Two Women and Rape of a Third as Police Launch Joined Investigation

Police are appealing for information after Simon Levy, 40, was charged with murdering two women and raping a third, with the Metropolitan Police now treating all three cases as part of a single, joined investigation.

Levy, of Beaufoy Road, Tottenham, north London, has been charged with the murder of 53-year-old Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, a Colombian national who died on the Aylesbury Estate in southeast London on 17 March. A post-mortem examination was unable to determine her cause of death, prompting a full police investigation.

He had previously been charged in September with the murder of 39-year-old Sheryl Wilkins, who was found unresponsive on High Road, Tottenham, on 24 August.

In addition to the murder charges, Levy is accused of grievous bodily harm with intent, non-fatal strangulation, and two counts of rape against a third woman in Haringey, north London, on 21 January. The victim cannot be identified for legal reasons.

Levy is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday in connection with the murder of Valencia-Trujillo. He is also due at the Old Bailey on Wednesday for a plea and trial preparation hearing relating to the murder of Wilkins. A full trial has been set for June 2026 at the Old Bailey.

Police believe there may be other individuals with information relevant to the case—or victims who have not yet reported incidents—and are urging them to come forward.

Commander Clair Kelland, head of the Met’s public protection team, said:

“Whether you are a victim-survivor or someone with information, we urge you to come forward and speak to us.”

Jaswant Narwal of the Crown Prosecution Service reminded the public that the case is active and that the defendant is entitled to a fair trial.
