Six Injured After Sign Falls at Christian Festival in West Sussex

Six people have been injured following a serious incident at the Big Church Festival at Wiston Park near Steyning, West Sussex.

Emergency services were called to the venue at around 3:38pm on Friday after reports that a large sign had fallen and injured several people.

South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed that ambulance crews, critical care paramedics and specialist response teams were attending the scene, with six patients confirmed so far.

Festival organisers later announced that Friday’s programme had been cancelled, while it remains unclear whether the event will continue on Saturday and Sunday as planned.

The Big Church Festival, founded in 2009, is described as the UK’s biggest Christian festival. The event had been scheduled to run from Friday through Sunday.
