Four Men Plead Guilty to Arson Attack on Jewish Charity’s Ambulances in London
Four men have pleaded guilty to an arson attack that destroyed four ambulances belonging to Hatzola, a volunteer-run Jewish ambulance service in north-west London, causing an estimated £1 million in damage.
Hamza Iqbal, 20, Rehan Khan, 19, Judex Atshatshi, 18, and Saif Ali, 18, admitted at the Old Bailey to destroying or damaging property by arson.
The attack took place in the early hours of March 23, when three of the men allegedly set fire to the ambulances while the fourth waited in a vehicle. The resulting blaze also damaged nearby flats and a synagogue.
The men were arrested following an investigation by counter-terrorism police. Prosecutors are expected to argue at sentencing that the attack had a terrorist connection, although the defendants deny this.
The court ordered pre-sentence reports, with sentencing expected in spring 2027.
