Nepal-Tibet Flood Disaster: Death Toll Surpasses 1,000

The devastating flash floods that struck Nepal and Tibet have claimed more than 1,000 lives, while thousands remain missing as rescue operations continue.

Rescue teams are working against difficult conditions to reach people believed to be trapped in flooded tunnels and isolated areas. Thermal drones are also being used to search for survivors.

More rain is forecast in parts of Nepal, raising concerns about further flooding and complicating rescue efforts. Authorities and aid organisations warn that survivors may require months or even years of support to rebuild their lives.

The search for missing people continues as families wait anxiously for news of their loved ones.
