22-Year-Old Skydiver Dies Following Incident Near Nottinghamshire Airfield
A 22-year-old woman has died following a skydiving incident near Langar Airfield in Nottinghamshire, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 12:13 p.m. on Sunday after reports of an incident. The woman was found in a nearby field and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that the victim’s family has been informed and said no other injuries were reported. Officers have launched an investigation to determine what led to the fatal incident, while a file is being prepared for the coroner.
Detective Inspector Rachel Mayfield described the incident as tragic, saying investigators are working closely with relevant partners to establish exactly what happened.
“Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and everyone affected by this heartbreaking incident,” she said.
Police have appealed to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward as inquiries continue.
